The 77 JD/JW sub-unit of Vidyodaya Public School celebrated National Sports Day with competitive zeal and a formal felicitation ceremony, witnessed by all NCC cadets and sports students.
The morning session featured energetic inter-company competitions in volleyball and tug-of-war, showcasing exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship. The afternoon formal function was presided over by Principal Anitha P. Raj. Dignitaries on the dais included Coordinator Shubha Rao, Physical Education Teacher Shailini Shetty, Teacher Vidyavathi, School Head Boy Akarsh A. Bhat, School Head Girl Saanvi Prabhu, and ANO Sunil Sir.
A key highlight was the felicitation of young athletes for their state-level achievements and qualification for national-level tournaments. The school proudly honored Himani (Athletics), Saanvi (Athletics), Dheeraj U. Shettigar (Athletics), Yashwini (Karate), and Aryan (Karate).
Leading Cadets Nischith and P. Yashas delivered inspiring tributes to Major Dhyan Chand. The programme was compered by PO Cadet Laxmi Suvarna under the leadership of PO Cadet Sumukha Bhat, with escort duties managed by Leading Cadets Anushree, Lavith Gangadhar, Bhakthi Umesh, and Himani.
