Literary Session with Renita D’Silva


Vidyodaya Public School had the privilege of hosting an enriching Literary Session with renowned author Mrs. Renita D’Silva on 5th August 2026 in the school auditorium. The programme was graced by Dr. B. Bhaskara Rao, eminent educationist and English Language Specialist, as the Guest of Honour. The event was attended by the Principal, Mrs. Anitha P. Raj, Coordinator Mrs. Saku, Grade 8 teachers, and students.

 

The programme commenced with a prayer, creating a serene atmosphere for the literary celebration. This was followed by a warm welcome and floral tributes to the distinguished guests. Mrs. Renita D’Silva was then introduced to the audience, highlighting her inspiring journey from an engineering graduate to an internationally acclaimed novelist. Her remarkable achievements and her deep connection to her roots in coastal Karnataka served as a source of inspiration for the students.

 

Adding a special touch to the programme, Grade 8 students presented thoughtful reviews of the author’s novels, reflecting their understanding and appreciation of her work. Mrs. D’Silva then addressed the gathering, sharing her experiences as a writer and encouraging students to cultivate the habit of reading, embrace creativity, and pursue their dreams with dedication and perseverance.
