Guru Purnima Celebration – Pre-Primary Section

Guru Purnima Celebration at Vidyodaya Public School

The Pre-Primary Section of Vidyodaya Public School celebrated Guru Purnima with a meaningful and age-appropriate activity to help children understand the importance of teachers in our lives.

The teachers explained that Guru Purnima is celebrated in honour of Maharshi Vedavyasa, the revered sage who compiled the Vedas and authored the Mahabharata. The day is dedicated to expressing gratitude and respect to all gurus (teachers), who guide us with knowledge, wisdom, and values.

The children were also introduced to the ancient Gurukula system, where students (shishyas) lived and learned under the guidance of their gurus.

A few children dressed up as gurus, adding joy and enthusiasm to the celebration. All the children enthusiastically participated in a colouring activity related to Guru Purnima, making the learning experience both enjoyable and memorable.

The celebration helped the young learners develop respect, gratitude, and appreciation for their teachers and the rich cultural heritage of India.
