Vidyodayapex-2026 Philatelic and Numismatic Exhibition
The Vidyodayapex-2026 Philatelic and Numismatic Exhibition was organized by the Dakshina Kannada Philatelic and Numismatic Association, Mangalore, as part of its Golden Jubilee Year Celebration, along with the Decennial Year Celebration of Manipal Philately and Numismatic Club, in association with Vidyodaya Public School.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Sri Sri Vidyavallabha Thirtha Swamiji of Kaniyuru Math, Udupi, by lighting the lamp, and he blessed with his words. He emphasized that old aesthetic materials should not be discarded, as they hold great value and should be preserved. He also highlighted that coin and stamp collection are valuable hobbies that students should develop alongside their academic pursuits.
The Chief Guest, Shri Ramesh Prabhu, Superintendent of Post Offices, Udupi Division, remarked that collecting notes, coins, and stamps is the “king of hobbies”, as it enriches knowledge and culture.
The event was presided over by Shri N. Nagaraj Ballal, with the presence of Shri U. Padmaraj Acharya, Treasurer, Vidyodaya Trust; Shri Markad Prabhakar Kamath, President, Dakshina Kannada Philatelic and Numismatic Association; Dr. Kiran Acharya, President, Manipal Philately and Numismatic Club; and Shrimati Anita P. Raj, Principal, Vidyodaya Public School.
Mr. Ganesh Somayaji welcomed Swamiji and Mrs. Meghana welcomed the gathering, Mrs. Saku served as the Master of Ceremony, and Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Principal of Vidyodaya Pre-University College, delivered the vote of thanks.
The exhibition was open from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM for students and continued till 4:00 PM for visitors. The event was widely appreciated by all attendees for its organization and for promoting awareness about philately and numismatics.
