Resilience and Success Session

An engaging and insightful session was conducted on 21st August 2026 for the high school students by Ms. Suchitra Rajendra, Founder and CEO of QEDHR, a boutique HR consulting firm. With over 30 years of experience in the corporate and consulting sectors, Ms. Suchitra brought a wealth of practical knowledge and experience to the session.

The session was presided over by Mr. Nagaraj Ballal, President of the School Managing Committee; Mrs. Roopa Ballal, Joint Secretary; Ms. Anitha P. Raj, Principal of Vidyodaya Public School; and Ms. Sandhya Karnad, Principal of Ananteshwara English Medium High School, along with the staff and students of Classes 8 to 10.

The session was highly interactive and engaging, with students actively participating in discussions and responding to thought-provoking questions. Ms. Suchitra made the concepts relatable by using several examples from everyday life, helping students understand that the lessons discussed were not merely theoretical but could be applied to situations they encounter in their own lives.

The session focused on resilience and success, encouraging students to understand that success is not simply about talent or intelligence, but also about perseverance, adaptability, a positive mindset and the ability to learn from setbacks.

One of the key takeaways from the session was the four-step journey of resilience: “Shock, Shift, Sweat and Soar.” Students learnt that when faced with a setback, the first step is to acknowledge the shock, followed by a shift in perspective or approach. This needs to be supported by sweat—the effort, persistence and hard work required to move forward—which ultimately enables us to soar and emerge stronger from the experience.

The session also highlighted the importance of developing a positive and determined mindset. Students were given a simple yet powerful mantra to carry with them:

“I CAN. I WILL. I SHALL.”

This mantra encouraged students to believe in their abilities, commit themselves to their goals and develop the determination to overcome challenges.

Overall, the session was a valuable and enriching experience for the students. Ms. Suchitra’s practical insights, relatable examples and interactive approach made the session meaningful and memorable. The lessons on resilience and success will certainly encourage our students to face challenges with greater confidence, determination and a positive outlook.

The session concluded with students expressing their appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity to interact with and learn from such an experienced professional.
