The Pre-Primary Section of Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, celebrated Raksha Bandhan on Friday, 8th August with great enthusiasm and joy. The celebration aimed to help children understand the significance of this festival, which honours the bond of love and protection between brothers and sisters.
The teachers narrated stories, including one from the Mahabharata, highlighting the relationship between siblings and explaining the importance of tying a rakhi. The children then actively took part in the rituals — applying tilak, tying rakhis, performing aarti, and sprinkling flowers on each other’s heads as a mark of blessing and goodwill.
Adding to the festive mood, the children enjoyed eating sugar candy and spending cheerful moments with their friends. The event was both educational and enjoyable, leaving the young learners with a deeper appreciation of Indian traditions and cultural values.
