The Aatidonji Dina celebration at Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, was a grand success, held on August 2, 2025. The event aimed to introduce students to the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Tulunadu. Students from Classes 1 to V participated actively, and parents were also invited to witness the celebrations.
The program began with a traditional welcome by the students, followed by folk songs and dances that beautifully showcased rural life during the monsoon season (Aati month). The students got to taste traditional Aati dishes like patrode, patholi, and other special dishes prepared by their parents, which added to the festive spirit.
The celebration was made possible with the support of the Principal, Smt. Anitha P. Raj, along with the coordinators and teachers. The teachers played a key role in training the students, preparing and decorating the venue to reflect the Aati spirit, and explaining the cultural significance of Aati to the students.
Overall, the celebration was both educational and enjoyable, providing a great opportunity for students to learn about and appreciate their cultural heritage.
