Sri Krishna janmashtami celebrations at Vidyodaya Public Shcool, Udupi

The Pre-Primary Section of Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, joyfully celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Friday, 12th September. The day was filled with devotion, enthusiasm, and colourful activities.

The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Smt. Anitha P. Raj, marking an auspicious start to the programme. A beautifully decorated cradle with a Krishna idol was placed in the classrooms by the class teachers, symbolising the birth of Lord Krishna.

On this special occasion, a “Muddu Krishna and Muddu Radha” competition was organised for the students. The Pre-Primary Coordinator, Smt. Latha R. Nayak, warmly welcomed the gathering, and the little ones participated with great excitement. The winners were honoured with trophies and certificates, while all participants received certificates of participation and gifts. Parents, too, thoroughly enjoyed watching their children perform.

Teachers narrated the story of Lord Krishna’s birth and highlighted his values of love, truth, and righteousness. To add a divine touch to the celebration, bhajans and shlokas were recited, creating a spiritual atmosphere. Children also relished sugar candy, which brought extra sweetness to the occasion.

The celebration was truly memorable, filling the children with joy, devotion, and valuable cultural learning.
