The Pre-Primary Section of Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, celebrated Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, with great joy and enthusiasm on Friday 4th September.
The programme began with a warm welcome, followed by a brief introduction about the significance of Onam, highlighting the legend of King Mahabali and the spirit of unity, prosperity, and happiness associated with the festival.
A beautiful Pookalam (floral carpet) was arranged by the teachers to mark the occasion, creating a festive atmosphere.
Teachers narrated the story of Onam and explained its importance using engaging visuals on the digital board. The children joyfully participated in various activities such as colouring pictures related to Onam, singing festive songs, and dancing to traditional tunes.
The celebration not only brought smiles to their faces but also helped them appreciate the cultural diversity of our country.
