The Inter-House Cooking Competition Food Fiesta was conducted on 3rd September 2025 for the senior category (Classes IX and X). The event brought together the four houses—Prema, Sathya, Dharma and Shanti—in a vibrant display of culinary talent.
Each house had to prepare four vegetarian dishes and one drink, with the choice of state cuisine decided by lots. The selected states included Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and West Bengal. In total, 16 dishes and 4 drinks were presented by Class IX, and another 16 dishes and 4 drinks were presented by Class X.
The students prepared the dishes at home and brought them to school for presentation. They decorated their counters with cutlery, flowers and side items, which added color and creativity to the competition. While presenting, each team spoke about the state they represented, the cultural significance of their dishes, the nutritional value and the uniqueness of the cuisine.
The Principal, Smt. Anitha P. Raj, and the High School Coordinator, Smt. Saku, graced the occasion. A panel of judges evaluated the dishes based on three main criteria—State content (20 marks), Dish presentation (20 marks), and Taste (10 marks).
The participants showed great enthusiasm and teamwork. They not only showcased the wide variety of vegetarian cuisines across India but also learned how different states make the best use of local resources in their food. The competition turned into a rich learning experience that blended knowledge, health, and creativity.
The event concluded with words of appreciation from the Principal, who praised the efforts of the students and encouraged them to continue exploring India’s culinary diversity. The Food Fiesta truly lived up to its name, leaving behind an aroma of learning, joy, and togetherness.
