Independence Day Celebrations at Vidyodaya Public School Udupi

Vidyodaya Public School celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm on August 15, 2025, embracing the theme 'Naya Bharat'. The Naya Bharat theme aimed to commemorate the continuing rise of a prosperous, secure, and bold India, providing renewed power to surge further ahead on the path to progress.


The school campus was beautifully decorated with flowers and rangoli, creating a festive atmosphere. The program began with a prayer, and Miss Khyathi Bhat, Head Girl of Std. X, efficiently managed the duties as the Master of Ceremony. Master S V Hariharasudhan of Std. X welcomed the attendees to the celebration.


The flag hoisting ceremony was led by Chief Guest Prof. Narayan M Hegade, Retired Kannada Professor, Joint Secretary of Yakshagana Kalaranga, along with School President Sri N Nagaraj Ballal, School Secretary Sri K Ganesh Rao, Joint Secretary Smt Roopa Ballal, Headmistress Smt. Sandhya Karnad, and Principal Smt. Anitha P Raj. The National Anthem and flag song were sung with pride.


Students Miss Ganashree of Class IX and Miss Apeksha H Pai of Class X delivered inspiring Independence Day speeches. The school band presented a beautifully patriotic song, filling the air with national pride. Chief Guest Prof. Narayan M Hegade emphasized the significance of the historic day and was felicitated by the School President.


The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Miss Roshelle Maize of Class X, followed by the distribution of sweets among the students. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for India's freedom and the collective responsibility to work towards a brighter and more inclusive future.
