Deepavali Celebration at Vidyodaya Public School

Deepavali Celebrations at Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi

The Pre-Primary Section of Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi, celebrated Deepavali with great joy and enthusiasm on Friday, 17th October.

Deepavali, also known as the Festival of Lights, marks the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. It reminds us of the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after his victory over Ravana.

To mark the occasion, a photo of Goddess Lakshmi was placed, and the ceremonial lamp was lit to signify prosperity and happiness. Children offered flowers to the Goddess, and melodious bhajans were sung. Rishik S. Kumar of UKG C was beautifully dressed as Lord Rama, while the teacher narrated the story of Rama Pattabhisheka, making the celebration more meaningful.

The children came dressed in colourful attire and participated enthusiastically in various festive activities such as lantern and diya drawing, colouring, and paper lantern craft. Each child was given a paper lantern to take home as a memory of the day. The event concluded with the distribution of sugar candies, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

It was indeed a joyful and vibrant celebration, filling the day with light, laughter, and festive spirit.
